I love that Margaux Joy DeNador‘s radio show is called Live Your Music because I believe that we all come here with a certain something that’s special and unique unto ourselves. We all have special music that needs to be played. Margaux is not only a singer, but, she also wrote a book—The Art of Living a Life You Love. She has found a way to Live her music!
I spoke to Margaux about it on this recent GVK episode….
LISTEN:
When I was in high school it seemed like the only things I was good at was getting in trouble and making people uncomfortable. Then I had was assigned a senior theatre project. I had to write a 20 minute monologue as a famous person and then perform it. I picked Marilyn Monroe because I thought it would be easy. Back in those days my life was sooooo hard that anything easy was the direction I would go in. It turned out to be one of the most profound experiences of my life.
Sure I was in theater, but, I only ever got cast as a pretty girl who danced across the stage. So, all of a sudden I was transforming myself into Marilyn Monroe and being her on stage telling a story that I wrote. The things I learned about her made me realize that I wasn’t the only lonely, sad, misunderstood person on the planet.
I performed my soul that day. My performance had people in the audience who beat me up on a regular basis, crying. I had found my calling and I’ve been telling my stories in one form or another ever sense…xoK
