Ok, I’m late to the party this spring. Between weird weather, allergies and an exceptionally busy Green Diva Studio schedule (thank you GD Lynn!), I just haven’t had the pull to be outside playing much yet this spring. So last weekend as part of our Mother’s Day fun, the kids and Wayne and I got started on setting up our deck, which is normally my favorite ‘office’ this time of year!
Gracie supervised . . . but there was an awful layer of pollen and dirt on EVERYTHING. I ran in to get my usual non-toxic glass cleaner, but there was none left. argh. So, I decided to get creative and make some. Grabbed the ingredients that seemed like they might work. Here’s what worked and worked much better than I thought it would!
GD Meg’s easy non-toxic, no-streak DIY glass cleaner
1/4 cup Dr. Bronner’s unscented baby mild castile soap (I keep this on hand for many of my homemade foaming soaps and other things)
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 1/2 cup clean water (I always use my filtered water for stuff like this)
I used an old glass cleaner spray bottle (I keep these kinds of things around for just this reason)
Give it a really good shake to mix it up and keep it from curdling. Mine did have a few small white chunks in it after a couple of weeks, but it still worked beautifully and doesn’t seem to be a problem.
Here’s my clean and streak-free glass table as I write this post!
Bonus!
Listen to this great first Green Divas at Home podcast! Beth Greer, author of Supernatural Home, talked to us about a few common things found in our homes that could be aging us prematurely — yikes! Read Beth’s excellent post, too.
