The evening after my last post at my stop at the Mormon Pioneer Trail site in Nebraska, I found a really sweet public camp site that was only $5 and tucked into a nice wooded area. Of course I forgot to write the name of the place and now am not quite sure where is it. The good news is that is will remain a sweet hideaway for those who stumble upon it like I did.
The next morning I hit the road for South Dakota and that evening found myself in the company of my good friends Joanie and Blue (seen in the pic). They are from Saskatchewan and were sharing their shock over the election of their new Prime Minister who is turning back the clock on environmental protections for Canada. Geez, I thought we could at least count on Canada to be level headed about the environment.
We had such a nice visit there over looking the Badlands to one side of us and the Black Hills on the other side of us. I love South Dakota and its dramatic skies and weather, not to mention all the other friends I have there.
