50 Shades of GDs

50 Shades of Green Divas is a collaborative gig between co-hosts Green Diva Meg (aka Megan McWilliams) and Green Diva Max (aka Maxine Margo), both veteran radio chicks, who’ve been squawking about the environment, climate change, sustainability, natural living and all that fun stuff for … well, since last century, which just  makes them sound old, but hey, they started young.

These green divas bring a depth of experience, passion and of course a sense of humor to this wonderful podcast.

The best description comes from Green Collage Magazine that named 50 Shades of Green Divas among the top green podcasts of 2018…

The name alone is enough. The 50 Shades of Green Divas Podcast explores crazy, awesome, seemingly-unrelated-but-actually-related topics that intersect with sustainability. Like sex, among other topics addressed in a recent podcast titled “Intimacy with Nature.”

It’s all true and then some. Come listen to these whacky Green Divas as they continue to report on any and all topics related (or seemingly so) to green and healthy living.

Why population matters

Posted 7 years ago Tagged

As we watch resources for human survival (water, air, food, etc.) dwindle to dangers levels in some parts of the world, we have to start talking about population and ways we can mitigate our compounding growth. There are now over 7 billion people on this earth competing for space and resources. What we can we do? Listen to father of the modern population discussion, Dr. Paul Ehrlich and Bob Walker, president of the population institute talk about the underlying issues and ways we can address … See More

How small sustainable farms could feed the world

Posted 7 years ago Tagged

This episode is timely with that massive beast the Farm Bill flopping around in congress… What we really need is more small sustainable farms and regional farm systems. So much to talk about when it comes to farms, but here we talk a bit about farmers markets, CSAs, slow money, and investing in local sustainable farms. oh and goats. enjoy! and of course, please pass it on.

Earth Day Activism & Optimism

Posted 7 years ago Tagged

This earth day, we’ve decided to focus on activism and optimism — because we really need both, not just on earth day, but every day! Hear wise words from Ed Begley, Jr., Climate Mama (Harriet Shugarman), some climate positive music by Mitch Margo and much more!

Green Burial

Posted 7 years ago Tagged

A topic we have covered a few times and each time, there is more interesting stuff to consider. We need to stop making the topic of death so taboo and educate ourselves about the most eco-friendly and natural ways to say goodbye to our bodies.

Environmental legal activism

Posted 7 years ago Tagged activism environmental activism

It seems like kids are breaking through invisible barriers and are demanding to be heard as in the case of Juliana vs. the US government, which is a landmark constitutional climate lawsuit. We talked with environmental legal experts Maya Van Rossum, author of Green Amendment: Securing our right to a healthy environment; and John Parker who is an environmental law advocate, professor and activist.
