The latest 50 Shades of Green Divas podcast featuring interviews from the Women’s March and of course GD Max…
When posting or commenting on social media, I vow to…
- curtail political whining
- minimize negativity
- not share mean or degrading memes (my policy on any topic)
- try and be constructive in my postings or comments that may be issue-oriented
- always be respectful in my language
- never personally attack anyone
- be honest, but be kind
- use credible sources when linking or sharing
- have more difficult or personal discussions OFFLINE / not in public forum/feed
But I also vow to…
- not to be silent about injustice
- speak truth loud and clear
- shine my crazy love light as bright as I possibly
- be unashamed by my voice, gender, beliefs, body… by who I am.
- respectfully call out bull shit and cite specific credible sources to back up my stance
- unfollow or unfriend or block those that are mean; abusive; espouse hate, intolerance or outright bigotry; or are personally rude
- keep a sense of humor
Social media can be a fantastic tool for connecting to a community of like-minded people to share information and make stuff happen, but it can also be a destructive time-waster when getting sucked into the rabbit warren of pointless debate or “proving my point.”
I’ve reenergized my love of womanhood and womankind after experiencing this outpouring of love, hope and real power as it manifested in this recent Women’s March, (which by the way, I probably wouldn’t have known about or gone to if it weren’t for my peeps on social media. Just sayin’.)
I don’t know why this was a dormant rumble deep within my lopsided, breasted self or how it got to be so quiet and almost compliant, but not any more sister. I feel a surge of positive feminine energy coming on and I’m not afraid to use it.
I have heard more women’s real voices over the last few months than ever before. Their unabashed truths and unwillingness to sit quietly and be content with letting things happen while they churn and burn inside. I proudly add my voice and promise to keep shining light on the compassionate truth with a promise to keep focusing on healing and love (even though that is a daily challenge).
… almost to the juicy stuff. keep going to read a powerful poem by Bryonie Wise …

I read all three pages! So, I think the reason we’ve been quiet lately is because we thought we were patiently waiting in line for our turn (like we learned in kindergarten) and we were playing by the rules. However, our country elected someone who doesn’t play by the rules and who bullies and who is now in charge. We thought evolved minds would lead us into equality. We didn’t realize there were so many afraid of smart women. Well, at least it’s out in the open. All this racist, sexist, whatever stuff was hidden and we couldn’t/wouldn’t deal with it as a nation. But, now it’s in the mainstream and it’s being acknowledged. I guess I’ll take that as one positive.

Good for you! Contrary to current political persuasions, it still is a free country and people can voice their opinions or not. So blocking your comments your friend is sticking her head in the sand. She can do it, and you can continue to do what you do!
