Colbert’s “Thought for Food”
For all you foodies out there should appreciate this Colbert “Thought for Food” segment about the Dominos “Smart Slice’ with it’s 51 percent whole grain crust (now being made available in schools). Made to look and taste like white flour, no less.
“Folks, when it comes to education there is one crucial thing a child needs: Name brand food products.” ~ Colbert
Why 51 percent? Because schools require 50 percent whole grain ingredients in their food, as part of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act championed by Michelle Obama or the “healthstapo.” (The whole grains requirement is set to increase to 100 percent by the next school year.)
Thank you Domino’s for going the extra mile! The “Smart Slice,” however, is not available for purchase by the general public. Not so smart. But, as Colbert points out, if you’re buying Domino’s you’re not exactly looking for a healthier version of pizza.
If I’m ordering Domino’s, I have no interest in health. In fact, I might have a death wish. ~ Colbert
Colbert also weighs in on the new Dorito’s Jacked “Test Flavors,” mocking the mystery ingredients. Good for a few, uh, belly laughs!
