I’m already having fun in this Toyota Prius Plugin Hybrid! 

I’m thrilled to be one of the contestants chosen to compete in Toyota’s MPG Challenge for charity. I’m among some extremely worthy and wonderful competitors and although I was late getting to the kick off event in NYC, I got to meet everyone and see my friends and colleagues — EcoKaren (founder and fellow sista in the GreenSisterhood) and Seth Leitman, Green Living Guy and now one of our favorite Green Dudes for the GD Radio Show & podcast. Also got to meet some folks, who I’ve seen and interacted with online, but never met in person from Earth Day NY, Inhabitat, Green4u, and New York Green Advocate.

It’s all for charity (and the thrill of course). I’m hoping to win some money for Eleventh Hour Rescue. Eleventh Hour rescued my Gracie girl from a kill shelter in Texas. I’m so grateful for Gracie and all the other animals they save and find homes for every day. It’s a fun and friendly competition, but I’m pretty motivated to win something for these folks who work tirelessly with few resources to rescue animals from all over the country.
