GVK: Kristin & Green Diva Meg talk with Mariel Hemingway

Mariel Hemingway on GVKMariel Hemingway shared her thoughts on Divinity, and Love with GVK, and Green Diva Meg and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentines Day! Mariel has two recent creative endeavors in the world ~ Running From Crazy, an amazing documentary film about Mariel Hemingway’s family history and how she is healing, and Running With Nature, a book she wrote with her partner in life and in love, Bobby Williams (Listen to the podcast to hear a beautiful message of love written by Bobby that Mariel reads for us!) ~ and I relate to both!

For a good part of my life, I was running from the abuse and sorrow of my teen life. Through some synchronistic events (a friend giving me Out on a Limb by Shirley MacLaine for starters) I found myself understanding my past in a spiritual/psychic way. That lead to many epiphanies and an expanded awareness which ultimately lead to the Divine. That awareness shifted my perspective and taught me to stop running with pain and begin running with a spiritual life. Whew!

And what does that have to do with Love? EVERYTHING!! The Divine is the omnipresent, omnipotent Love force of our Universe. That epiphany came to me as a remembering at my first LaHo~Chi session and brought me to a place of peace that I had not felt on this Earth before.

So, on Valentine’s Day and everyday, celebrate Love. Whether it is with a life partner, a friend, a parent, a child, an animal, with Mother Earth herself or a Higher Power of your understanding. Celebrate because the Divine Loves you for who you are. And who you are is someone that no one else can be on this Earth, ever.

Mariel and her life partner, Bobby, celebrate with Mother Earth every day with mindful practices around food, exercise, each other and ultimately with the world. Mariel shared a poem of Love by Bobby at the end of our conversation and it is beautiful, so enjoy!

Unacceptable Levels

Unacceptable Levels examines the results of the chemical revolution of the 1940s through the eyes of affable filmmaker Ed Brown, a father seeking to understand the world in which he and his wife are raising their children. To create this debut documentary, one man and his camera traveled extensively to find and interview top minds in the fields of science, advocacy, and law. Weaving their testimonies into a compelling narrative, Brown presents us with the story of how the chemical revolution brought us to where we are, and of where, if we’re not vigilant, it may take us.

Beauty and the Breast

“A first time documentary filmmaker offers a compelling insight into a devastating reality of breast cancer, as seen through the eyes of several female patients helping demystify the disease while painting poignant and often humorous intimate portraits of survival. The film depicts the process of learning and accepting the terrifying verdict, and details the complexities of every stage of this disease. All interviewed patients have different experiences living with mutilated bodies while still maintaining strength. This film is not only invaluable as a testament to human resilience but it also proves that it’s possible to blossom in the face of adversity. But as the fight continues, the wisdom and beauty within us can help us conquer the beast until we find the cure.”
