Green Divas HQ has an abundant pile of interesting green living products to review. So in the spirit of spring cleaning, I will try to de-clutter our office while paying homage to some products we like. From greener coffee on the go to awesome glass drinking straws.

Repurpose Hot CupsThe Coolest Green Coffee Cup Around – Insulated, Sleeveless, Green: Repurposing is this Green Diva’s middle name, so I was just the person to look into this paper cup product. While the Green Divas rarely use disposable products there are times when the need arises.  The best thing about these cups, second to that fact they are made from 100% renewable resources, is that they are well insulated and don’t require extra sleeves or “double-cupping.” I made a super hot  cup of coffee to test it out and it was fine to hold.  You can see all their other eco-friendly, biodegradable products on the Repurpose Compostables website. You can also buy Repurpose Hot Cups online at amazon.com  and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Here are some good reasons to consider these cups:

  • Compostable in 90 days
  • Lined with plant material (not oil)
  • No sleeves required
  • Made from 100% renewable resources
  • SoyGo – On the go soy creamer: Since I was making a cup of coffee in order try out the paper cups, I thought I should seize the moment and try this non-GMO, organic soy creamer. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. Generally I prefer almond milk because many of the soy products are odd tasting, not to mention it is a powder creamer. This product was developed  back in 2008 by the SavingOpusOne (SOO) project that is focused on anti-factory farming.  These folks are devoted for sure. This will be a good product for any road warriors or campers like me.
Glass Dharma Straws

Glass Dharma Straws are a very sweet way to not use paper straws for the kids and on the road. They are a little piece of art that is functional and good for the planet and the person. These glass straws come in large and small, curved or straight and plain or with colorful dots to help identify who’s is who’s. They come with a little brush to keep them clean and a sleeve to carry them in and have a lifetime guarantee. We love them.

Stay tuned for more product reviews for around the house, both inside and out.

Overfed and Undernourished

“We live in a world with increasing levels of Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes and Obesity. Over 70% of foods we consume on a daily basis are processed, and according to the World Health Organization, if current trends continue one billion people will be obese by 2030.

With our fast paced lives, we have become reliant and connected to devices, TVs, computers, tablets and smartphones and disconnected with the natural world, and the people around us.

“Overfed & Undernourished” examines modern lifestyles and a global epidemic through one boy’s inspiring story to regain his health from the inside out. After heartache, Liam, weighing in at over 80kgs (176lbs) turns to his Aunty & Uncle for help, and embarks on a journey where we witness the highs and lows, a family unite for a common cause, and the promise of transforming his life forever.

With 25% of children and 74% of adults obese or overweight, Liam’s problem is not uncommon, but, as the film illustrates, the treatment is more readily attainable than most people think.

This ground breaking documentary is interspersed with interviews and advice from leading health and wellbeing experts from around the globe and provides us with simple solutions to improve the quality of our diet, lifestyle, and personal bonds, ultimately asking us the fundamental question – are we really nourishing ourselves?

Featuring: Joe Cross (Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead), Dr. John Demartini (The Secret), Dr. Anthony Gollé, Dr. Arne Rubinstein and Don Tolman."
