Blessing / Poem by Coline Fairless

Written for the Green Divas Radio Show in May 2011

May we be planted by the waters,

A planting so deep, our roots sink down into the rich moist earth until we stand on solid rock

May our minds and hearts know the intimate touch of the wind, our faces the heat and healing power of the sun,

Until we know ourselves as one with all life.

If I Found Water on Mars by Kerri McCaffrey

If I found water on Mars,

breaking through

the red crust

of Martian soil—

with my NASA

pick axe

(as if lancing some boil)—

water turning

the red sands white—

my nation watching

from Mothership Earth

like a hungry pride

as their domestic lion turned wild

initiated her first kill

the media lauding,

“Isn’t she valiant!”

I would kneel and pray

a prayer

for that planet

(as a compassionate alien),

like some astronaut priest

beseeching God’s mercy

on that place’s soul

and other points

as salient

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Unacceptable Levels

Unacceptable Levels examines the results of the chemical revolution of the 1940s through the eyes of affable filmmaker Ed Brown, a father seeking to understand the world in which he and his wife are raising their children. To create this debut documentary, one man and his camera traveled extensively to find and interview top minds in the fields of science, advocacy, and law. Weaving their testimonies into a compelling narrative, Brown presents us with the story of how the chemical revolution brought us to where we are, and of where, if we’re not vigilant, it may take us.

Occupy Love

Join acclaimed director Velcrow Ripper (Scared Sacred, Fierce Light) on a journey deep inside the revolution of the heart that is erupting around the planet, as he asks the question, “How could the crisis we are facing become a love story?”

Occupy Love explores the growing realization that the dominant system of power is failing to provide us with health, happiness or meaning. The old paradigm that concentrates wealth, founded on the greed of the few, is causing economic and ecological collapse. The resulting crisis has become the catalyst for a profound awakening:  millions of people are deciding that enough is enough –  the time has come to create a new world, a world that works for all life.

The film connects the dots in this era of rapidly evolving social change, featuring captivating insider scenes from the Egyptian Revolution, the Indignado uprising in Spain, Occupy Wall Street in New York, the environmental movement and beyond. Woven throughout the action oriented backbone of the film is a deep exploration of public love, and compelling stories of an emerging new paradigm. It features some of the world’s key visionaries on alternative systems of economics, sustainability, and empathy, including Naomi Klein, Bill McKibben, Jeremy Rifkin, and bell hooks.

Occupy Love is a moving, transformative, heartfelt film, featuring Ripper’s signature stunning visuals and rich soundscapes. A powerful cinematic experience leaves viewers inspired.
