Having overcome powerlessness, exercised my right to vote (and my gluts on the all-up-hill walk home from my polling place!) and let out a hefty sigh of relief that there wasn’t any serious electile dysfunction, we thought we’d be on the air last night for our postponed first show from last week, but . . . Athena had other plans. So, when did we start naming winter storms anyway? Does the naming make it more significant?

It was a pretty winter wonderland for those of us fortunate enough to have power, thus heat. I felt REALLY bad for my friends who are still struggling in cold dark houses. I invited them all over, but everyone just hunkered down in their own digs for the duration. Fortunately, Athena was more hype than heavy snow, but the roads were terrible last night and our fearless HomeGrownRadioNJ leader, who needed to come by and finish the rest of the wiring couldn’t get here. So, in favor of safety and not stressing anyone out (remember Green Divas are low-stress), we will postpone for yet another fun-filled week.

Meanwhile we have been in the new GD studio getting ready. Green Diva Mizar and I are trying not to have too much fun, but when she unearthed a purple tiara from the GD costume closet, it was kind of hard to keep a straight face.

There will be no shortage of fun content from this studio!

We are soooooo grateful for those that are helping us navigate the minefield of odd impediments to get us on the air! Our intern Green Diva Jamie is amazing and has stepped up way beyond the call of duty and has done the job of a professional associate producer! Our new audio engineer, Green Dude Rigel is busy recording and mixing us some new pre-recorded fun.

Overall, we are sidestepping the madness as best we can and are going to hit the airwaves – hard – next week, November 15 with one of our favorite guests, Jessica Arinella from What You Can Do TV series.

Then of course, it is time for turkey and gratitude and we’ll be back on November 29, with the patient and flexible Mariel Hemingway to talk about what the heck happened to Prop 37, why GMOs suck and what we can do moving forward.
